![]() It shines as bright as a 70-watt RV incandescent bulb while requiring only a fraction of the energy consumption, making this product an exceptional buy. Regardless, these LED dome lights are perfect for adding a touch of modernity to any camper. The only negative for this product is the lack of instructions. I am confident RV owners will feel the same. I also do not question this option’s quality, performance, and safety because it has RoHS and CE certification. ![]() ![]() Installation is also convenient and practical because all LED dome lights come with screws and wire nuts. They can turn on only one side of the lighting fixture or both panels for extra illumination. People will also find the dome light’s dual switch advantageous in improving energy efficiency. Having five of these bulbs in my camper will only require 30 watts from my RV batteries. I am also surprised to learn this LED light bulb uses only six watts. That is because of the LED light’s 4000-4500K color temperature. That is how bright these LED lights are.Īnd although they produce intense illumination, it does not hurt the eyes or make people see things with a yellow tinge. Each bulb has 60 surface-mounted leds that deliver 700 lumens, equivalent to a 70-watt incandescent bulb. They will not only get one but five high-performance, energy-efficient, and naturally bright LED light bulbs to illuminate their camper interior.įalling in love with these lights is never a question. RV owners looking to upgrade to RV interior LED light bulbs should consider the Kohree double dome light fixtures. Kohree 700 Lumen LED RV Ceiling Double Dome Light Fixture Given its price and the fact that it doesn’t use up all the energy in the RV, I am satisfied with the performance of the Leisure RV double dome light. Although, I am okay with the flip switch because it is easier to find when the lights are out. It might only be a personal preference, but I think I would have liked it better if it were a touch button. It is also worth noting that it comes with a 1-year warranty and CE- and RoHS-approved, which means it is safe and reliable to use in an RV. I got a pack of 5 and installed one in each bunk of the bed, and it allows me to read my books without having to stand up and turn off the switch in the room. Its 3-way switch also allows me to choose whether to use both or only one of the dome lights. It doesn’t use up all the power in your RV (it’s especially good if you’re using solar power). I like how energy-efficient it is, as it only uses 6W but provides enough lighting for my RV with its double dome construction. The Leisure double dome LED light fixture has made it easy for me to achieve that without me having to spend hundreds of dollars. If you have an RV, you must understand very well that proper RV lighting makes all the difference when it comes to making your mobile home feel cozy and convenient at the same time. If you want a reliable light fixture for your RV, this Kohree 12V LED light is a good option considering its price and its lighting capacity. Nevertheless, I love that in case you need assistance in installing or any kind of information about the product, you can easily call and talk to their customer support service. Even so, it’s not too bulky and still looks great when installed in the RV. Its dome design is to allow for efficient distribution of light, so it can’t really be installed flush with a flat surface. If you want your lighting fixture to be flush with the ceiling, though, this dome light might not be the best option. It really brightens up the area with its 300-lumen rating, which I find pretty impressive given the size of the dome light. Hence, I don’t have to worry about the risk of fires or accidents as I could tell that the dome lights were well-made. I am glad to find out that this 12 volt LED lights for RV interior don’t heat up too much when in use. When I ordered the 5-pack for my RV, I thought it wouldn’t be enough and that I would have to order more, but fortunately, that’s not the case. The Kohree 12V single dome LED light is one of the most efficient ways to provide lighting for a mobile home. ![]() ![]() ![]() "Under Pressure" was sampled by American rapper Vanilla Ice for his 1990 single " Ice Ice Baby". It is included on the band's compilation albums Greatest Hits II, Classic Queen, and Absolute Greatest, as well as Bowie compilations such as Best of Bowie (2002), The Platinum Collection (2005), Nothing Has Changed (2014), Legacy (2016), and Re:Call 3 (2017). The song was included on some editions of Queen's first Greatest Hits compilations, such as the original 1981 Elektra release in North America. Live recordings appear on the Queen live albums Queen Rock Montreal and Live at Wembley '86. It was played live at every Queen concert from 1981 until the end of the band's touring career in 1986. In 2021, it was ranked number 429 on Rolling Stone 's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. "Under Pressure" was listed at number 31 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the '80s, and voted the second-best collaboration of all time in a poll by Rolling Stone. The song has been described as a "monster rock track that stood out" on the Hot Space album, as well as "an incredibly powerful and poignant pop song". The song reached number one on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Queen's second number-one hit in their home country and Bowie's third, and also charted in the top 10 in more than 10 countries around the world. Originally released as a single in October 1981, it was later included on Queen's 1982 album Hot Space. Please do not hesitate to contact us at or on 020 72886003 for a free consultation." Under Pressure" is a song by the British rock band Queen and singer David Bowie. If you fancy a quick laugh, check out the classic footage online of Van Winkle poorly attempting to justify that the melodies were not the same.Īs always, our specialist copyright team (and music lovers) here at Briffa are always on hand to help with all things music, be it contracts, claims or even just a free chat about what’s what. I personally believe in the artistic merit in sampling, however in this case Van Winkle blatantly sampled a famous song without giving the recognition and royalties due to the artists. Regardless, he happily explained that he had made a handsome amount of money from Ice Ice Baby and was comfortable in life. Years later, Van Winkle revealed that he paid $4 million to purchase the publishing rights to Under Pressure which he said was cheaper than continuing having to pay royalties. Bowie and Queen members both also received songwriting credits on the track. The case eventually settled for an undisclosed but inevitably hefty sum. Representatives for Queen and Bowie were having none of it and threatened a copyright infringement claim. Unfortunately for Winkle it does not work that way. He famously insisted that the two melodies were different because he added a beat between notes. Van Winkle had quite clearly sampled the classic bassline to Under Pressure. Queen and David Bowie were not nearly as impressed as everyone else was. Nevertheless, Vanilla Ice (or Robert Van Winkle as he is legally named) got himself into some trouble when he brought out his now immortal track. After all, it brought us such classic and meaningless lines as “all right stop, collaborate and listen”. I am not entirely sure how to feel about this song on the one hand it is awful but on the other hand I like it. This week I am going to talk about a song we have all heard – Vanilla Ice’s seminal 1990 track Ice Ice Baby. And the best of them might be Brooklyn’s Ka, a frequent Roc Marciano collaborator. They’ve taken this heavy, concussive old music and turned it into something blunted and psychedelic, a sound you can get lost in. More importantly, though, Marciano has inspired a whole wave of bent, idiosyncratic underground rappers, all of whom are twisting that classic New York sound in their own weird directions. ![]() On Marcberg, Marciano sounds like Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven: a haggard old gunslinger looking for peace but finding more violence anyway. It’s a record soaked in musty atmosphere: intricately worded monotonal tough-talk, ambient movie-soundtrack loops, nothing as tasteless as a sung chorus anywhere. But Marcberg was the moment Marciano found his voice. Before Marcberg, Marciano had been kicking around the New York rap world for years, spending time with Busta Rhymes’ Flipmode Squad crew and forming his own underground unit the U.N. ![]() One of the decade’s most quietly influential rap albums is Marcberg, the 2010 solo debut from Long Island rapper and producer Roc Marciano. And yet that hoodies-and-Tims ‘90s New York rap has survived and evolved, thriving in a few underground pockets. And rap music has had rebirth after rebirth, to the point where today’s young SoundCloud-rap vandals routinely and performatively claim that they’ve never even heard of their ‘90s forebears. Truthfully, it didn’t sound like that much anymore in 1997, when Puff Daddy brought the shiny suit era in. Rap music doesn’t sound like that anymore. Others (Biggie, Prodigy, Guru) are no longer with us. Some of them (Jay-Z, Nas, the extended Wu-Tang family) entered the canon, the world agreeing en masse on their genius. But most of the architects of that sound have moved on, chasing pop stardom or moguldom or comfortable semi-retirements. The rap music that came out of the greater New York area in the ‘90s-the grimy, wordy, obsessive boom-bap-remains some of the most evocative and cinematic popular music that this world has ever given us. ![]() There’s something about a hard neck-crack snare, a lazy trumpet sample, a rugged voice muttering about fur coats and boxcutters. 4 speed automatic transmission shifts VERY smoothly. Overall a great driving car for what it is. Cargo space is good and expandable to one back seat down, both and even the front passenger seat folds if needed. There's even (flimsy) cup holders in the back and storage space under the trunk floor (it's not much space though). Climate controls are Toyota and very easy to figure out. The ride can best be described as firm but not punishing, well controlled. A good driving position for tall people still leaves your feet a little closer to the pedals than you'll really be comfortable with, but, minor issue. The outlet will shut down if the limit is exceeded. XM radio and stability control are nice touches, although I've tried to provoke the VSC and it seems to kick in a little late (this could be due to Pontiac's marketing of a "sporting" demeanor.) They put an actual 115 volt household outlet in the car too, although there is a cutoff point to how many watts the plugged in object can be. Easier to get into and out of than lower slung cars. Great match to the automatic 4 speed transmission. This model was equipped with GM's auto-crank technology (flick the key to start and release, the starter will keep cranking until the engine catches.) It's the Toyota 1.8 from the Corolla and it's excellent in this car. The engine is great, starter is quiet for an economy car. It's what the Kia Soul should have looked like, if the Soul were a hatchback as in a normal, not boxy car. Result? Sensible shoes. This car is a real looker. But “GT,” in this case, stands less for “grand touring” than “general transport.” All the Vibe’s moves are admirable. The Vibe is a practical and justifiable small wagon that will face the likes of the Dodge Caliber (which it will trounce) and five-door Mazda 3 (which it might not). Plus, the right-front seatback folds flat, creating even more valuable space. With minor cursing, we stowed a bike back there. Fold them flat and you’re rewarded with 49 cubic feet of cargo space, and the floor is finished in easy-to-wipe-down plastic. Some engineers apparently still equate heaviness with sportiness. Strangely, the base Vibe’s rack was easier to spin at parking-lot speeds. The GT’s chief drawback is its electric power steering, which is leaden and numb at all speeds. With a tendency toward a small amount of lift-throttle oversteer, the Vibe’s tail can even be rotated. Body motions are masterfully controlled, and the platform feels reassuringly solid. In the hills, the GT’s ride is firm, occasionally choppy over truly scabrous tarmac. The pedals are arrayed for heel-and-toeing, clutch takeup is predictable, and the manual five-speed moves from gate to gate with satisfactory heft and accuracy, although reverse is often hard to find. The large HVAC controls can be operated while you’re wearing gloves, and the Toyota-derived wiper and signal stalks move with silky precision. The IP and the center stack are simple and ergonomically bang on. You sit high and upright in the Vibe, as if in a minivan. With so few ponies in harness, why? Sixty mph comes in 7.9 seconds, 0.6 second behind, say, a Mazda 3 s Touring. Full throttle in the lower gears reveals minor torque steer. Power flows effortlessly from 2000 rpm to redline, but the engine becomes a tad raucous above 4500 revs, where your ear suggests an upshift. What you first notice about the Vibe is that it is quiet and gratifyingly smooth at step-off, although it idles at so few revs-presumably to save fuel-that a few embarrassing stall-outs transpire before you get the hang of it. Stability control, ABS, and traction control are standard. The GT is notable for its stiffer suspension, chrome strut-tower brace, and aggressive 18-inch rubber. The AWD and the GT benefit from a 158-horse, 2.4-liter four, lending them a 26-hp edge over the starter kit. There are three Vibe-rations on tap: the base 1.8-liter (starting at $15,895), an all-wheel-drive version ($19,495), and the GT we sampled here ($19,895). Corolla, of course, was Chief Pontiac’s third mistress. In this case, a Toyota Matrix is the Pontiac Vibe’s progenitor and second-gen mechanical twin, both descended from the latest Corolla. ![]() He wouldn’t have known what a vibe was, but that’s okay, because he wouldn’t have known what a matrix was, either. ![]() It’s unlikely that Pontiac, an Ottawa Indian chief, ever expected a GM division to be named after him, although he might have had good vibes about the red arrowhead that serves as its logo. |
